ROC the World Tour
The first annual Roc the World Tour was a lively celebration of the awesome, life changing gifts of mobility that are received by children in need in developing countries. Guests who attended the event were given the opportunity to learn about the Roc chair and what makes it so incredible. The event was held October 21, 2006 at the Lazy B Barn in Bozeman, Montana

Everyone had fun finding out why the chair is so special as they zoomed around the Lazy B barn first in a standard wheelchair and then in the Roc chair. The children and adults at the event now know first hand about its unique qualities of adaptability, comfort and support. Another activity was creating their own paper model wheelchair and adapting it to fit the specific needs of their paper doll. The chairs were very colorful and sparkly with lots of straps, cushions and headrests!

In addition to getting familiar with the Roc chair, event participants contributed to the mission of Roc Wheels by reaching out and caring for others with making donation to either adopt a wheelchair or for general support. Children and adults created colorful t-shirts and unique finger puppets that will be given to children on the distributions to Mexico and Mali, Africa. Beautiful banners were also decorated with handprints and will be displayed at distribution sites as a visual reminder to all, that we in Montana send our love.

The activities allowed participants to make a difference. Parents at the event were thrilled with the opportunity for their children to create and give to others. Many questions were asked by children: Why can’t I take the puppet home? It isn’t for me? Who is it for? They don’t have any toys? What is his name? Can I make him another one?

The puppets, the shirts and the banners are seemingly small tokens of love but they encourage smiles, make children laugh out loud, and cause others to pause and consider how someone so far away could reach out and care for them

It truly is through giving that we receive.

We thank all who gave so generously of their time, creativity and love to make a difference. With your help this fundraiser was able to raise enough money for 45 ROC wheelchairs to be adopted and having expenses of $2,164. We hope to see you next year!
